No verdict yet in Wesley Snipes tax case
OCALA, Fla. - The jury in actor Wesley Snipes' tax case passed its first full day of deliberation Wednesday without a verdict.Snipes and two co-defendants are accused of fraud and conspiracy in an eight-count indictment from 2006. The action star faces six additional charges for failing to file tax returns from 1999-2004.
The IRS alleges Snipes, Eddie Ray Kahn and Douglas P. Rosile engaged them in a long fight insisting the actor didn't owe any taxes. The government must prove not only that Snipes and company broke the law, but that they meant to.
Snipes' lawyers say he was a victim of bad financial advice, and sincerely believed he didn't have to pay the government anything.
Kahn is the alleged ringleader of a central Florida tax protest group called American Rights Litigators, then Guiding Light of God Ministries. Kahn, a former CPA who lost licenses to practice in Florida and Ohio, allegedly drew up Snipes' fraudulent refund claims.
Spears taken from her home in ambulance
LOS ANGELES - Britney Spears was taken from her home by ambulance early Thursday and escorted to the hospital by more than a dozen police officers in cars, on motorcycles and in helicoptersA Los Angeles police officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak on the matter, said the 26-year-old pop star was being taken to the hospital to "get help." The Los Angeles Times cited unidentified authorities who said Spears was being placed on a "mental evaluation hold."
Spears was taken to UCLA Medical Center, where her mother, Lynne, was seen leaving its psychiatric hospital at about 5:30 a.m.
When asked by a throng of paparazzi and reporters whether Britney was doing all right, Lynne Spears replied, "Yeah," before leaving in a Range Rover.
Hours earlier, shortly after 1 a.m., the motorcade that pulled away from Spears' residence was nearly the length of a football field. Along with the ambulance, it included police on nearly a dozen motorcycles and in two cruisers. Two police helicopters followed overhead.
The scene was more controlled than the one earlier this month when Spears also was taken away from her home in an ambulance.
On Jan. 3, police were called to her home when she refused to return her two young sons, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, to ex-husband Kevin Federline, who has custody.
Officers had paramedics haul Spears to a hospital for undisclosed reasons. She was released after a day and a half in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Police also went to Spears' hilltop residence off Mulholland Drive on Monday night after someone reported a swarm of paparazzi trespassing in the singer's gated community. When officers arrived, they didn't see anyone trespassing, police said, but citations were issued for several illegally parked cars.
Spears has been in a highly public downward spiral since filing for divorce from Federline in November 2006.
Her bizarre antics include shaving her head bald, attacking a car with an umbrella and bringing along a paparazzo pal on trips to a courthouse in her child custody case.
Spears' child custody case has become a public spectacle, with her skipping depositions and twice this month arriving at the courthouse but not attending the hearing.
The most recent incident was last week, when Spears showed up at the downtown civil courts building for a chance to persuade a Superior Court commissioner to change his order and allow her to see her sons.
Dressed as if arriving for a cocktail party — wearing bright pink lipstick, sunglasses, shiny gold platform shoes and a very short black dress with a ruffled hem — Spears was driven into an underground garage and then entered the courthouse.

Showing up 15 minutes late, Britney Spears spent more than two hours at the office of Kevin Federline's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, on Monday (January 21).
The Gimme More singer, dressed in a dark blue top sans bra and a pair of jeans, pulled up to the office in her white Mercedes-Benz with companion/manager Sam Lutfi by her side.
There for an ongoing deposition in her custody battle over sons Jayden James and Sean Preston, Britney gave off a serious demeanor - which comes about rarely these days.
According to People magazine reports, "Federline's attorney will use evidence gathered in depositions to try to convince a court that his client should retain primary physical custody of the ex-couple's children. A custody trial is set for April."
Roselyn Sanchez Heats Up the Beac
Showing off her amazing bikini body, Roselyn Sanchez was spotted grabbing some rays in Panama yesterday.

Glitter considers Hong Kong move after release: report
HONG KONG (AFP) - British former pop singer Gary Glitter, jailed in Vietnam for child molestation, is considering moving to Hong Kong after his release, a report said SundayThe 63-year-old -- jailed for three years in 2005 for molesting girls aged 11 and 12 -- has asked his Vietnamese lawyer Le Thanh Kinh about the possibility of a new life in the city, the Sunday Morning Post said, quoting unnamed friends of Kinh.
Glitter -- whose real name is Paul Francis Gadd -- is set for release in August, when he will be deported back to the UK.
But he told Kinh he wants to return to Asia as soon as possible, the report added.
Glitter began thinking about Hong Kong 13 months ago after a meeting about life in the UK with British police and a sex offences specialist at his prison in Thu Duc, the source said.
"It wasn't a happy encounter. He said afterwards he didn't like the sound of it at all, and it made him determined never to settle back in the UK," a friend of Kinh told the English-language paper.
"He doesn't know where he will live if he is released but he has spoken to Mr Kinh about moving to Hong Kong. He told Mr Kinh on one of his visits, 'It's a big city where I can go around without being noticed. But I'll be able to get English food there'."
However, Kihn denied Glitter had spoken to him about moving to Hong Kong, and said "it is not clear where he will go after his release".
Glitter was last week recovering in a hospital custody unit after reportedly collapsing in his prison cell with heart problems a fortnight ago.
Earlier this week, Binh Thuan provincial hospital director Nguyen Huu Quang told AFP that Glitter had been admitted for acute diarrhoea, adding: "During his treatment, we found he had also some heart troubles."
However, he denied he had suffered a heart attack, as reported in Britain's News Of The World newspaper last Sunday.
Kinh also told AFP last week that Glitter had not sought any amnesty or sentence reduction for the Lunar New Year.
And the British Embassy in Vietnam said last week it was not in negotiations to have him released early for health reasons.
Glitter, a former "glam rocker" once famed in Britain for his flamboyant bouffant wigs and silver jumpsuits, had several hits in the 1970s including "I'm The Leader Of The Gang (I Am!)" and "Do You Wanna Touch Me?"
He fell from grace when a British court jailed him in 1999 for possession of child pornography. He served half a four-month term and then left Britain to live in several other countries, including Cambodia, before moving to Vietnam.
Tom Cruise among the stars at Screen Actors Guild Awards rehearsal
LOS ANGELES (AP) — You're never too big to rehearse. Tom Cruise was among the stars who stopped by the Shrine Auditorium Saturday to run through lines for Sunday's Screen Actors Guild Awards — the only show during Hollywood's strike-subdued awards season that's sure to have an A-list turnout.Clad in a black blazer with a matching turtleneck and jeans, Cruise chewed gum and joked with stagehands as he practiced his lines in front of an audience of stand-ins and seat-saving placards.
His rehearsal was broadcast on monitors throughout the theater as workers prepared it for the 1,200 actors and industry heavyweights expected, along with scores of journalists.
Among the expected guests at the union's 14th annual awards show are Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, John Travolta, Michelle Pfeiffer, Forest Whitaker and Cate Blanchett.
Even the rehearsal list read like a star-studded party, with Chandra Wilson, Vanessa Williams, Viggo Mortensen, Kate Beckinsale and James Marsden among those taking the stage Saturday.
"Hairspray" star Nikki Blonsky's mom worked a Blackberry as the actress practiced her lines. Wearing a black tunic over matching leggings and her hair in a bun, Blonsky smiled as she looked out at a front-row seat with her name on it. After her five-minute rehearsal, a stage manager gave her the A-OK sign and she rushed away to give an interview.
Outside, a tent in the theater parking lot was transformed into an elegant setting for the awards-show after party. Thousands of white roses filled giant gold vases lining the curtain-draped walls. Half a dozen workers stood atop tall ladders to trim the ceiling with greenery.
In just a few hours, the crates of champagne flutes in the center of the room would be replaced with actors rubbing elbows with their own.
Kate Moss Celebrates Turning 34 In Style
A birthday is a big deal, and now that her 34th is upon her, party girl Kate Moss is celebrating in style.
According to press reports, the supermodel, who currently is busy moving into a new $8 million pad, has already kicked off one of as many as five different bashes set to occur.
Kate is "easing herself into party mode in a $5,000 a-night suite at the Dorchester hotel in Mayfair, where she's been joined by her closest female friends - Davinia Taylor, Fran Cutler, Meg Matthew, Kelly Osbourne and Kate's daughter Lily Grace."
The plans call for a Chinese meal at the hotel's China Tang, owned by her good friend David Tang.
From there, "Kate and her posse plan to drop off at the house of Serena Rees, the founder of Agent Provocateur who is a good friend and also hosted an afterparty on her 30th birthday after they famously went off the rails at Claridges."
Then, after planned stops at their local pub in north London and her best friend Davinia Taylor's house, "stragglers are planning to have a house-warming at Kate's grand new home in St John's Wood, which painters and decorators have spent the past four days frantically doing-up."
Katherine Heigl's Wedding Drama
With her late December wedding still lingering in the back of her mind, Katherine Heigl opened up last night on the Late Show with David Letterman about how her big day almost became a huge disaster.
First of all, her groom Josh Kelley decided to go skiing just two days before the ceremony, despite her pleading. "I told him don't ski before the wedding, it's not a good idea, you haven't skied in years. Anyone who knows Josh well knows he likes to show off and he's very good at everything. But on this occasion he not only skied, but he showed off, and he got in an accident and hit his nose on his knee and split it open."
Heigl continued, "It was really unattractive. He didn't have to get stitches thank god. His father is a doctor and said 'Its okay, it's not broken' and put ice on it. I wouldn't speak to him until the wedding day. Then I had to - I had to direct my vows at someone."
The next disaster had to do with Josh almost losing his wedding band the day after the nuptials. "My mother and I bought property up in Utah. We were scouting the property and there was tons of snow - it had been snowing constantly. He was throwing snowballs and the ring was big - which wasn't his fault - and he shook snow off his hand and it sunk like a stone. My brother, who doesn't generally care that much about sentimentality and wedding bands I guess, found some guys with metal detectors at a gas station in the middle of nowhere in Utah - and they found it."
And on the honeymoon, the Grey's Anatomy babe threw a wrench in the works herself. "I lost my passport - well I didn't lose it, I forgot it - before the honey moon. We were going to Mexico. A couple of years ago you didn't need your passport to go to Mexico, but now you do. So all of this great stuff I had over him [Josh] was lost when I forgot my passport."
Kristin Cavallari Celebrates 21st... Again
Although she already celebrated her 21st birthday with a Vegas bash over a week ago, Kristin Cavallari felt the urge to rejoice with another shindig in her honor.
After attending the premiere of "Cloverfield", Cavallari headed over to the Stone Rose Lounge in West Hollywood, California.
There, the former Laguna Beach star was joined by the likes of Paris Hilton and Cisco Adler, partying well into the night.

She nabbed a trophy at the National Board of Review Awards last night, and given all the success of her film "Juno," Ellen Page's career really seems to be taking off.
The 20-year-old actress is set to star in a roller-derby film titled "Whip It!" directed by none other than Drew Barrymore. And reportedly both ladies are looking forward to the project.
The "Charlie's Angels" actress told press, "I've been working toward the goal of directing my entire life. Whip It! is a story that really spoke to me."
And Page commented on how working with Barrymore would stretch her, artistically. "I really admire how Drew constantly challenges herself as an artist. She's proven herself as an actress and a producer, and I have no doubt she'll bring great vision and creativity to the director's chair. I can't wait to kick ass on wheels!"

Rihanna Gets Inked Up
It was off to the tattoo parlor for Rihanna, who got her ink job touched up after a shopping outing with a gal pal on Sunday (January 13).
The 19-year-old "Umbrella" singer wound up at Hollywood's Body Electric tattoo parlor on Melrose to have a little work done on her growing collection of skin art.
In the past, Rihanna told press, "I like hanging out in tattoo shops. I am so intrigued by tattoos. It's an entire culture, and I study it. Sometimes I go with friends or just by myself. I get bum-rushed, but I don't care. I don't take security."
In other news on the Grammy nominated singer, Rihanna and beatmaster Timbaland have designed their own t-shirts for clothier H&M's "Fashion Against Aids" range.
The awareness raising campaign launches in H&M stores in February, with 25% of the proceeds donated to HIV/AIDS research.
Lohan to work in morgue as punishment
LOS ANGELES - Lindsay Lohan is about to see dead peopleThe 21-year-old actress will soon be working at a morgue as part of her punishment for misdemeanor drunken driving, her attorney, Blair Berk, told a judge Thursday.
She has also spent two months in rehabilitation and has done some community service, Berk said at a hearing on her progress toward fulfilling the terms of her plea bargain.
Her two four-hour days at the morgue are part of a court-ordered program to show drivers the real-life consequences of drinking and driving. She must also spend two days working in a hospital emergency room.
Lohan was arrested twice last year on DUI charges and pleaded guilty in August to misdemeanor drunken driving and cocaine charges. She has already served 84 minutes in jail as part of the plea deal.
Vanessa Hudgens Readies For “Will”
Practicing those all-important driving skills in her new Audi, Vanessa Hudgens kept up her hectic recording schedule by paying a visit to the studio on Saturday (January 12).

With all the changes a woman goes through during pregnancy, it can be a tough adjustment. But Jessica Alba reports that she's a big fan of having a bun in the oven.
The "Good Luck Chuck" actress spoke openly about her journey thus far at Glamour magazine's V-Day 10th Anniversary in Century City yesterday. "It's awesome. It's the best time ever. I have two movies coming out, a baby, a fiancé – everything."
Alba remarked that though she's loved that the past couple of years have been marked with constant filming and press promotion for her films, she's looking forward to a break. "I don't know if anyone wants me in their movies [when I'm] six months pregnant. I'll get the fire and I'll want to work again, but right now it's a time to relax and sit back. I bought a new house a couple weeks ago. I'm in nesting phase."
At the V-Day event, Jess performed a scene from the v****a Monologues. From the stage, she joked, "I hope [my dress] won't pop while I'm up here. And if it does, you're all women, and I think you'll understand it. [When you're pregnant], your breasts are engorged and your stomach is getting bigger. . . . Is Pamela Anderson Pregnant?
In yet another edition of Celebrity Baby Watch, it’s being speculated as to whether or not Pamela Anderson is carrying her own bundle of joy.
The Baywatch actress has been making news as of late due to her rushed wedding with “One Night In Paris” filmmaker/star Rick Salomon that soon took a turn for the worst when Pammie filed for divorce last month.
But now it’s being reported that she’s got a little Salomon in the oven. And Rick is hoping that she will nix the divorce proceedings when she is done acting “crazy” as a result of her pregnancy hormones.
As an interesting update, Anderson posted “No” on her official website earlier today. It’s not clear whether she was denying her pregnancy, or the fact that she’s just acting a little wacko due to her preggers state.
'Sex and the City' star fancies Mercedes
DETROIT - Actress Kim Cattrall considers a new SUV from Mercedes-Benz to be a perfect fit for her "Sex and the City" character, Samantha Jones. Cattrall helped Daimler AG introduce the Mercedes-Benz GLK Freeside Concept during a reception Saturday night in advance of the North American International Auto Show.
"Very passionate people make Mercedes and they're very smart and I've always considered both of those things right down Samantha's alley," Cattrall said. "It's a cutting-edge car."
The compact sport utility vehicle will be driven by Cattrall's sex-obsessed character in the upcoming "Sex and the City" movie, which is expected in theaters on May 20.
Cattrall said the vehicle "speaks more about where (Samantha is) in her life and her lifestyle."
Cattrall, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon will reprise their roles for the romantic comedy, to be distributed by New Line Cinema in association with HBO.
"We are sure that every time we launch a new Mercedes we get the attention," said Dieter Zetsche, Daimler AG's chief executive. "With Kim at our side, we don't know whether it's the product or whether it's her — but that's even better."
Cattrall said she's been thrilled by the high expectations for the film, which reunites Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, Miranda and Mr. Big for the first time since the long-running HBO series ended in 2004.
"I did not imagine the anticipation. I don't think anybody could. So we're all kind of riding high on that," she said.
Nicole Richie, rocker welcome baby girl
LOS ANGELES - "The Simple Life" just got more complicated for Nicole Richie: She's a first-time mom. Richie, 26, gave birth Friday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center to a daughter named Harlow Winter Kate Madden, People magazine reported on its Web site.
The father is Richie's 28-year-old boyfriend, Joel Madden, of the rock group Good Charlotte.
"We are very blessed she's healthy and beautiful and so good already," Madden told People on Saturday. "We are very happy."
Calls to the couple's representative at Handprint Entertainment, Richie's publicist and the hospital were not immediately returned Saturday.
Richie, the socialite daughter of singer Lionel Richie, is perhaps best known for costarring with Paris Hilton in the reality show "The Simple Life."

The always fashionable Nicole Kidman was spotted enjoying a brunch outing on the waterfront with a large group of girlfriends in Sydney on Sunday.
Held at The Finger Wharf at Woolloomooloo Bay, the Moulin Rouge actress seemed to be in a good mood, despite finding herself caught up in sex scare rumors stemming from an unauthorized biography about her ex husband, Tom Cruise.
Tom Cruise: An Unauthorized Biography hits shelves next Tuesday, and biographer Andrew Morton claims that Nicole “lives in fear of the release of tapes made with Scientologists revealing intimate sexual details.”
According to a report from the Herald Sun: “Under the church’s teachings, followers can have life’s problems solved through a system of one-on-one counsellings called audits. The book claims it was in these audits where Cruise and Kidman revealed intimate aspects of their sex life, which were recorded.”
In response to these allegations, Cruise is already working up a $110 million lawsuit against the book’s publisher, St Martin’s Press.
Rihanna Talks Fame’s Loneliness
Going from virtual obscurity to being one of the most recognizable faces in pop music can be a tough adjustment. Just ask Rihanna.
The “Umbrella” singer recently got real about the dark side of being world famous. And she revealed that her success has led to a newfound loneliness.
She confessed, “Fame is lonely. At first, I was on an adrenaline high - this is my dream. I’m actually doing it; it didn’t faze me that I was alone, that I wasn’t with the people I love. But after a while it gets repetitive and that is when you think, ‘Oh wow, I am sitting in a hotel room once again, just me and the television.’”
Rihanna quickly realized that success is only surface deep. “When you are in the spotlight, people are like, ‘What do you have to worry about?’ They forget that the success is one great aspect of your life, but behind that there are problems, there are dark sides, there is loneliness and unhappiness.”
And she’s learned to watch her back. “In this business, people are shallow, they are dishonest. You can’t trust them. I have always had a thing for reading people. When I come into contact with a situation or a person, the first thing I do is just sit quiet for a little while. I sit and watch you. It really helps me to understand how to play the game, and sometimes you have to play it. It is a game that really sucks.”

And with Valentine's Day not far off, Carmen suggests using her DVDs to get in shape as well as get inspired for a little loving. "I would start by just doing the DVD. You have the choice of how you want to do it. If you want to do it to stay in shape, you can do that. Or, if you want to take it a step further, get the moves down to the point that you don't need the DVD anymore. Light candles, dress up in lingerie, and give a little show with what you've learned."

Hilton Sisters Ring In the New Year
While Kevin Federline was tied up with hosting duties at Tangerine, Paris Hilton was free to spend her New Years Eve with sister Nicky Hilton.
The hotel heiress siblings, who were performing hosting duties, showed up to Vegas hotspot LAX nightclub last evening looking their best - and ready to party!
Paris strutted about the red carpet in a glimmering multi-colored dress with a heart in the middle, topped off by a pair of gold heels.
Meanwhile, Nicky kept things a little more conservative, opting for a flowing white dress and a pair of sparkly silver shoes.
The two mingled and danced with fellow clubgoers, clinking together their champagne glasses as 2008 rolled in.
All in all, it was a fun-filled evening for the Hilton sisters - with Paris telling press that her resolution this year is "to be with my family, and be happy, and maybe find a nice boyfriend."
Miley Cyrus Defends Her "Scandalous Pics"
This girl is way too clean for scandal! Miley Cyrus got real about the so-called "scandalous pics" of her sleepover kiss - and she's not going to take any flack for it.
The Hannah Montana actress told in a Z100 interview, "At first, I was really upset. It really sucks. It's not something I'm going to let slide. I'm really upset about it, 'cause it was, like, not even a big deal. [She's] a friend of mine that's a normal girl. … That's one of my best friends. I have all these girls who I hang out with all the time. This girl doesn't even have to deal with that, and it's so hard. [Now] she has to go to school and deal with this crap."
Apparently the press' attention to her "girl time" may have been a bit presumptuous, given the media's penchant for scandal. Miley explained, "It's two girls at a sleepover, and if all of a sudden that's bad, then what is the world coming to? What I decided before I came out to L.A. and started working was the minute I didn't have fun was the minute I go home. I don't want to go home, and I don't want to not do what I do, because I love it, but this … it's Satan attacking."
Miley and her mother Tish checked out of the Trump Hotel yesterday and left in a hurry, due to the throngs of crazed fans. She was in the Big Apple over the New Year's holiday for an appearance on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve 2008.
Mariah Carey Rings In the New Year in Style
She's looking better than ever, and for New Year's Eve, Mariah Carey partied it up at hot spot TAO with a few of her closest friends.
Actually, she brought an entourage of 30 people, according to a club source. But when you're as hot as she is, you certainly can't travel alone. She brought celebs like Da Brat, Randy Jackson, "Milkshake" girl Kelis, and rapper Nas.
Showing off her voluptuous form, the "Always Be My Baby" singer rocked a white strapless cocktail dress, just short enough to be a bit scandalous. And while it fit like a glove, it's a good thing no one tugged on it, as it looked like it could fall off at any moment.
The "Someday" diva explained that she's already hit her weight goal for the New Year, hence her lack of a resolution. "I should have them, but I've already done them," she quipped at press.
TAO clubgoers were treated to a Mariah-hosted countdown to 2008, and she ended the night with a performance of "Migrate," her new single.
Sarkozy to marry girlfriend Bruni: report
PARIS (AFP) - French President Nicolas Sarkozy is to marry his new girlfriend, the former model turned singer Carla Bruni, a French newspaper reported Sunday, claiming a wedding was "imminent".Citing several anonymous sources, the Journal du Dimanche said the couple, currently on a private visit to Jordan at the invitation of King Abdullah II, are believed to have set a wedding date for either February 8 or 9.
Presidential spokesman David Martinon declined to comment on the front-page story.
Sarkozy, 52, and Bruni, 39, were photographed on Saturday touring the rose-red city of Petra in southern Jordan, the president carrying Bruni's young son Aurelien on his shoulders.
During a Christmas trip to Egypt, the recently-divorced president reportedly gave Bruni an engagement ring -- a pink diamond heart -- while Bruni gave him a luxury Swiss watch in grey steel.
Sarkozy and Bruni -- heiress to a tyre fortune whose former boyfriends include rock stars Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton -- have been trailed by a swarm of paparazzi since their romance was first publicised in mid-December.
Bruni may accompany Sarkozy on an official trip to India late this month, according to local media, which said the government of the morally conservative country was struggling to find the right protocol to greet her.
The French president and his second wife Cecilia announced their divorce in October after 11 years of a tumultuous marriage. Sarkozy has a 10-year-old son with Cecilia, as well two grown sons from a previous marriage.
Bruni's mother Marisa Tedeschi Bruni was quoted in the Italian press last month saying the president had asked for her daughter's hand in marriage.
Sarkozy, who has yet to comment publicly on his new relationship, is to answer questions on the subject at a New Year's press conference Tuesday, as a poll showed his confidence rating slipping seven points -- a drop blamed in part on voter concerns about his relationship.
According to a CSA poll in Le Parisien, 48 percent of voters say they trust the president to tackle France's problems, compared to 55 percent last month. Forty-five percent said they did not trust him, compared to 38 a month before.

It seems Milo is making all the right moves to ensure that this relationship gets off on the right foot. A friend of the actor told press, "They're very affectionate and very comfortable around each other. He really takes care of her, even down to the little things like giving her a back massage and going with her to work."

It's been a busy weekend for Lauren Conrad. Between club-hopping and making out with her ex-boyfriend Stephen Colletti, this girl barely has time to breathe. The Hills hottie was spotted out at Los Angeles' Central this past Saturday night, getting cozy with Colletti, to the point that they played a little tonsil hockey before hitting the dance floor. And last night, LC was cutting a rug at LAX night club in Las Vegas. She partied with her fellow Hills girls, sporting a slivery cocktail gown and a mischievous grin on her face. Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox Go to Mexico
They have their Christmas Eve tradition of dining together at Beverly Hills restaurant Mastros. And now it looks like Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox may be establishing a New Year's tradition as well. Yesterday the "Friends" friends were spotted boarding a private jet in Burbank, California. Also along for the ride were Courteney's hubby David Arquette, their daughter Coco, and a mystery man. What's more, the mystery man appeared to be Jennifer's date for the excursion. There's no word yet as to his identity. (As for Aniston's recent pregnancy rumors, her rep simply said, "She is not pregnant.") Their flight arrived in sunny Mexico a few hours later, and the happy vacationers took to the beach after checking into their luxury beach house digs.
Mischa Barton Arrested For DUI, Drug Possession
Spotted out just days ago smoking a joint in her car, it comes as little surprise that Mischa Barton was arrested in West Hollywood early Thursday morning for DUI.
According to Lieutenant Honings of the West Hollywood Sheriff's office, the former star of The O.C. "was stopped at 2:46 a.m. and arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of illegal narcotics and driving without a valid license."
"During Ms. Barton's detention, it was determined that she was an unlicensed driver and was driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage," police told press, adding, "Ms. Barton was arrested and transported to West Hollywood Sheriff's station where the booking process was completed without incident."
Barton was released after posting $10,000 dollar bond at around 10 a.m. and the investigation is still considered ongoing.
Joining a long list of celebrity DUI's this year, it'll be interesting to see how Mischa's latest troubles affect the release of her three upcoming films: St. Trinian's, Virgin Territory and Closing the Ring.
Tequila will take another 'Shot at Love'
NEW YORK - "A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila" is apparently over for Bobby BanhartThe 25-year-old male film student selected last month by Tequila on her popular MTV reality dating show is no longer — or maybe never was — dating the 26-year-old bisexual Internet celebrity.
During MTV's live New Year's Eve programming, Tequila said that Banhart had broken up with her because of her hectic work schedule. "He couldn't handle it," she said. "He broke up with me."
However, Banhart said in a Dec. 30 message posted on MySpace that "she never called me after the last show and no one would give me her number."
The network announced Wednesday that a second season of "A Shot at Love" will air this spring and will once again feature Tequila looking for love, reality TV style, among a group of men and women.
"This time I wanna find love for real," Tequila said during "Tila Tequila's New Year's Eve Masquerade 2008."
The Hilton's Hawaiian Christmas
It was Christmas in paradise for the Hilton family, as siblings Paris, Nicky, Barron and Conrad, spent the holiday together in the tropics of Maui, Hawaii.
According to an onlooker, "the Hiltons walked from their hotel to a neighboring establishment where they met up with fellow heirs Brandon and Jason Davis and their family for a rich festive feast."
The source continues: "Paris, Nicky, Jason and Brandon all sat with friends and family laughing and joking for over two hours as they enjoyed their Christmas dinner in the sun."
Along with the big family meal, Paris and Nicky were spotted strolling down the beach, with Nicky then heading off to the ocean for a quick sunset dip.
The insider tells of the venture, "Joined by youngest brother Conrad and her father, Rick, Nicky quickly headed back to shore after finding the water a little too chilly for her liking."
